Foundation Reach for Change which realized the socially responsible initiative “THE CHANGE”, organized an international meeting of social developers in Sofia. Within the event on 1 July, Day of the kid, a conference took place with topic ” Social developers as an engine for the educational change”. In the international meeting, four successful developers participated, they come from Bulgaria, Denmark, Lithuania, Tanzania and talked about how they work for a change in the educational systems and specific educational practices in their countries. One of the participating Bulgarian projects, supported by Nova TV, is related to an online platform for sexual education. The first edition of “THE CHANGE”(2014 – 2015) has showed that social development holds a serious potential for growth in Bulgaria. Within the realized projects are an IT centre for education of youth in Vratsa, from the winners from the initiative, Emilian Kadjiiski and Theodor Kostadinov, as well as the project of Ivan Blagoev for a school in woodworks in a foster home “Princess Maria-Luisa” in Plovdiv. Candidatures are already being accepted for the second edition of the competition for social developers “THE CHANGE”, and the applications are presented to the website of the initiative till 30 June, included. “There is an immense interest to social development, the hall in front of me is full. The accent this year is the topic of Education.”, Annie Salich explains – ambassador of the initiative. The competition is opened for non-economical organizations, as well as for single citizens, who have an idea how to improve the life of the children in Bulgaria.
