European agenda: review of the challenges and priorities facing EU

Representatives of Global Union for Innovation, Development and Education took part in the public Discussion ” Youth and democracy : what values should civil education teach in schools “, organized by “Politics and Development”, with the support of Foundation “Conrad Adenauer”.
The event was held on 24 June in Grand Hotel Sofia. Representatives of Centre for Inclusive education and Foundation “Together in class”, National network for children and other organizations, took part in the meeting. Amongst the other participants were the political scientist Ognyan Minchev, advisor of the President of problems regarding education, docent Rumiana Kolarova, advisor of Minister of education and science – George Stankov, Yanka Takeva from the syndicate of Bulgarian teachers, Boyan Zahariev from the Institute “Open Society” and others.
The participants shared different points of view for whether or not civil education follows to be separated as an individual subject or to perform integrated studying, what values to include, expressed opinions on the methodology of education and the preparation of teachers.
