Investor.bg are celebrating their 15th birthday with number of lectures with students. The website presents rich information about the world of economics and finance. The idea for the lectures came from the team of the site with the ambition to increase the economy literacy in Bulgaria.
The first lecture was on 6th of April and took place in the main hall of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The subject of the meeting was “Entrepreneurship”. Hosts of the gathering were Boicho Popov, editor of Inverstor.bg and Georgi Biserski, CEO of Investor.bg ltd. Special guest was Levon Hampartzoumian, president of the Board and CEO of “UniCredit Bulbank”.
Mr Hampartzoumian answered many questions about the economy crisis, of the Panama Papers and the success entrepreneurship. The banker defined the statement that Bulgaria is only going down since 1989 as a “communist myth”. As a proof he pointed that Bulgarian economy has increased 6 times since 1990. Mr Hampartzoumian added that Bulgaria is a country of the future. According to the banker, Bulgarian people are competitive and successfully take place in leadership positions. As an example he pointed out the many Bulgarians working in the Boards of “UniCredit Bulbank” around the world.
The leaders said that every business begins at the lowest level. The most important stage on development is exactly the begging, in which the company needs to build its structure and to present itself as an attractive opportunity for the investors. The economists shared to the students that in the years of developing there are downs and losses but this must not demotivate them. The purpose of the meeting was businessmen from the high level of career to come and show the students that with right education, accumulated skills and ambition they can achieve success.
As a conclusion Mr Hampartzoumian shared the qualities that are required from a CEO of a bank: responsibility, organization, complexity and ability to work in a team of different types of people.
More motivational lectures with students are upcoming in many other universities.
